Butts Up is a popular playground game that is played with a wall and a ball. Here are the basic rules to play:

1. Choose a person to start the game. This person will stand in front of the wall and throw the ball against it.
2. The other players will try to catch the ball after it bounces off the wall. If they catch the ball cleanly, they get to throw it next. If they drop the ball, they have to run to the wall before another player picks up the ball and throws it at the wall.
3. While the player who dropped the ball is running to the wall, the other players can pick up the ball and throw it at the wall. If the player who dropped the ball reaches the wall before they are hit by the ball, they are safe. If they are hit, they are out and receive a letter in the word "BUTTS UP".
4. A player is also out if they throw the ball and it is caught by another player before it bounces off the wall.
5. The game continues until only one player is left standing. That player is the winner.

Some variations of Butts Up may include different rules, such as allowing players to dodge the ball or having a designated "jail" area for players who are out.
